Real-Time Email Alerts for New Conversations

Community members can now receive real-time email notifications when someone starts a new direct message thread with them while they're offline.

For security and privacy, the message content is not included within the email. Users must log into the community platform to view their messages.

*Note: real-time email notifications for follow-up messages within an existing conversation are not available at this time. 

Notification Preferences

A new notification preference setting lets community members choose how they want to receive DM notifications, both on-screen (in-app) toast alerts and real-time email notifications.

These options are enabled by default for all users and can be adjusted at any time.

How to update your preferences:

1. Click your avatar in the upper right corner
2. Select Settings
3. Check or uncheck your preferred in-app and email options

Daily Digest: "Your Unread Direct messages"

Your Daily Digest now includes a new section titled “Your Unread Direct Messages”, located between the new discussions and “Your Recent Activity". This section highlights up to 4 unread direct messages received in the previous 24 hours from the time the daily digest is scheduled to be sent.

As with real-time alerts, message details are not shown in the email to protect user privacy. Members will need to log in to view the full messages.
